I'm a home body. My reasoning is if I make it home alive, why chance it by going back unless I absolutely have to. Finding ways to enrich my agoraphobic lifestyle can be a challenge, but with the advent of Amazon, I can have most things delivered to my home or office. Eventually though, you have to do something other than keep house to keep busy. I love music, period. I love diving into someone else's inspirations and musical stylings. I've found that I'm a bit of an eccentric when it comes to entertainment as most don't want to just sit and listen to a piece of music and not talk. I'm like..."Do you not hear that? That is someone's music, that they wrote and produced and YOU'RE TALKING ALL OVER IT!!!" I don't play well with others, but I have a suggestion if you are looking for way to escape your own monotony, throw yourself a listening party. It's like taking yourself on a date, only you know who is picking up the tab. Just for kicks, stop by the farmers market and get you some fresh local veggies, and maybe some local meat if that guy is there when you are (I can never seem to catch him on weekdays).
Now what I would do is put Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" in to your old fashioned 5 CD changer with Enigma's 1992 sophomore release to follow. You can make a healthy dinner and eat it and have a good wine buzz going before Brain Damage/Eclipse gets to the climax. At that point, you are in a perfect state of mind for Enigma's MCMXC A.D. A strange, sexually charged journey of biblical proportions that you might even find yourself swaying to if the feeling hits you. I've found this to be a rather fulfilling evening. If you find yourself wanting more after these two albums, let me know where you want to go from there and I'll give you a third album to add to the sequence. Namaste. -Morgen
