Elton John Makes Gross Revelation About His 2017 Las Vegas Residency

iHeartRadio ICONS With Elton John: Celebrating The Launch Of Elton John's Autobiography, "ME"

If there's one thing Elton John has tried to convey over the past year or two, between his Rocketman biopic and his ME! autobiography, it's that his iconic career hasn't been quite as glamorous as all the sequins suggest.

John revealed in a recent interview with BBC One that his secret battle with prostate cancer in 2017 had grave implications on his bladder control for a time.

The singer and composer told Graham Norton that he elected for surgery to treat his cancer, rather than chemotherapy. The procedure got him back on stage within a couple of weeks, but he wasn't entirely himself. He said he had to wear an adult diaper for one show during his Las Vegas residency.

"If they only knew," he quipped.

John has repeatedly said over the years that he's lucky to still be alive after abusing his body with drugs and alcohol for so long. But he's also lucky to have made it through prostate cancer. He went on tour in South America in '17 after undergoing one procedure to treat the disease and contracted a potentially deadly infection there.

After canceling his remaining dates and rushing back to England, John spent several days in intensive care. Only to resume his busy touring schedule a few months later.

Despite his various battles, John has remained in good health for the majority of his 'Farewell, Yellow Brick Road' tour. He recently announced a new crop of spring tour dates in North America.
