"Devastated" Ozzy Osbourne Postpones Entire Tour Due to Illness

Ozzy Osbourne is delaying his entire U.K. and European tour as he recovers from a severe upper-respiratory infection which was apparently brought on by the flu.

The Osbournes made the decision to call off the tour for the time being, based on a doctor's recommendation.

On Monday, Ozzy's U.K. tour opener Judas Priest revealed that the first four dates of the tour were be postponed because of Ozzy's illness.

On Wednesday, Ozzy announced the full postponement. He says his doctor is concerned the infection could turn to pneumonia if The Prince of Darkness were to go on tour "in harsh winter conditions."

"I'm completely devastated for having to postpone the European leg of my tour," Ozzy said in a statement on his website. "It just seems that since October everything I touch has turned to s--t."

That's one way to put it.

Ozzy had a brush with death in October. After getting a staph infection in his hand, he underwent several surgeries and was hospitalized for nearly a week.

Last week, as Ozzy fell ill, he revealed via social media that he coughed so hard he broke a blood vessel in his eye.

He says he's also suffering from bronchitis. But he concluded his statement with a determined tone.

"I want to apologize to all of my fans who have been so loyal over the years, my band, my crew and to Judas Priest for letting you all down. However, I promise the tour with Judas Priest will be completed.. It's being rescheduled right now to start in September."

Details on the rescheduled dates are coming soon, he says.

Ozzy's last concert was the New Year's Eve version of Ozzfest last month. His next scheduled show at the moment is now his headlining set at Rocklahoma in May.
