Some Filming for the Sequel to 'Suicide Squad' in Augusta!

We all love it when a part of town shuts down for filming a movie and that's exactly what's going on right now as we speak! Some filming is being done for the sequel to the 'Suicide Squad' and let's just say it might be in one of the buildings in Augusta you expected it to be in...

From The Augusta Chronicle:

Filming for the movie, “The Suicide Squad,” is set to begin today and continue into Wednesday at the former Augusta Richmond County Law Enforcement Center on Walton Way.
Some scenes in the movie will be shot at the former jail, according to Takiyah Douse, the city’s Central Services Director. The facility has been closed since 2014.
Fourth Street between Walton Way and Watkins Street was closed Monday, and crews began to move equipment into the building for the film shoot. Temporary fencing was placed in front of the building and a section of the parking lot has been blocked off with cones, sandbags and caution tape. A tractor-trailer with equipment was parked at the back of the building.
Trailers have been placed on 4th street next to the 401 Walton Way filming location.
The film will be a sequel to the 2016 DC Comics movie “Suicide Squad.” James Gunn, known for directing Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy,” is the movie’s director and writer. No additional dates have been released for filming in Augusta.
