From Dark Horizons:
Mel Brooks is producing a live musical stage version of his famed 1974 film “Young Frankenstein” for ABC.
And by the way, it's pronounced ‘Fronk-en-steen’.
The original film followed the grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein (pronounced ‘Fronk-en-steen’) as he travels to Transylvania and continues his grandfather’s work. Brooks directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Gene Wilder.
Brooks debuted the stage version in 2007 which he wrote the music and lyrics for, that version ran on Broadway for two years and was nominated for three Tony Awards.
